Coalition Shared Database

The Coalition Shared Database (CSD) project was a result of SBIR phase I funding. The purpose of this program was to solve the problem of distributing large amounts of data from multiple simulation assets while maintaining data fidelity across the local network.

The CSD software implements a high-level distributed architecture to accomplish this using the open-source JXTA architecture standard.  Where the traditional client-server model of data distribution and sharing uses centralized database servers for collection points, JXTA is based on a peer-to-peer, decentralized arrangement where each node on the network is responsible for caching and offering information through a publish/subscribe mechanism. CSD offers the ability to query specific record sets of information from each database and can provide the query results in multiple formats for both GMTI and Imagery data products.
